As much as we admire fictional characters like Batman and the Punisher, the truth is that vigilante justice is frowned upon, because it subverts the rule of law. (Of course, in the context of these specific fictional stories, the rule of law is completely broken, and extreme measures are needed to protect the innocent.)
So the reason that you don't see swaths of patriots taking to the streets to fight these people, is because we still believe in the rule of law. Granted, our disposition is predicated on the fact that Donald Trump is the Commander in Chief, and has plans to deal with these threats. I would imagine that if Joe Biden actually becomes president, and ANTIFA becomes a staple of everyday life, then you will indeed see civil war break out.
But the fact remains, once we cross that threshold, there is no going back. Violence will only lead to more violence, and once the chaos truly erupts, our country will be vulnerable to foreign invasion by nefarious enemies. (Quite frankly, I think our enemies WANT us to engage in street violence, for this very reason.) A broken America is much easier to conquer.
The other aspect of this is the fact that the filmed violence you are seeing across the internet are very isolated events. While they are happening in many cities across the country, they are general contained to a very small geographic area (a few city blocks) and are not being personally witnessed by the overwhelming majority of Americans. If that were to change-- if it became more widespread-- then you would likely see a more organized response from patriots.
We have our orders from Trump: "Stand down and stand by."
We are waiting, but admittedly getting very restless. We remain hopeful that Trump and his team will prevail, but also remain steadfast and ready to respond to an escalated threat, if it comes to our neighborhood. (We aren't going to go looking for the fight, but are ready to deal with it, if it comes to us.)
Hope this makes sense. We are ready for war, but pray it doesn't come to that.
This is great question.
