At the individual level, Republicans like to think of themselves as believing in "law and order".
Democrats are divided among people who claim to believe in the law, and people who say fuck da police, but all of them ultimately support breaking the rules (overtly or surreptitiously) because the rules are unfair and oppressive.
At the politician level, the Republican/Democrat divide is fake. At the highest levels we are run by a Uniparty. They pretend to fight for votes, but then behind the scenes they make secret deals over who will take control of what in exchange for kickbacks, and they get money from the same special interests. Some politicians consider these backdoor negotiations as a legitimate part of the process, and still pretend their party is winning, but the problem is that the Democrats almost always come out on top thanks to their backstabbing ideology. It has gotten worse since the Clintons took over the party and Hillary collected blackmail information on politicians on both sides.
So of course the politicians won't support the individuals if they fight back. On top of that the MSM is controlled by leftists that report and magnify any threats or "extremist" behavior from the right, while they ignore or downplay actual violence from other leftists. The FBI follows suit, only investigating what they want to investigate, and making sure nobody on the right can "fight back".
