I work in a hospital.
I was bringing a guy out to the exit and he gave me this sinceare, heartfelt ‘thank you for your service! I know it’s tough cause of all this covid crap, but I appreciate you, you guys don’t get enough credit, thank you so much, thank you for your service.’
I didn’t have the heart to tell him covid isn’t a big deal.
Like, guy, I just wear a mask all day and that’s it. My life hasn’t changed at all.
As a veteran it is just awkward when people thank me. Just accept the fact there are still good people out there who recognize you work hard.
