You are in fact completely wrong. All gunpowders contain their own oxidizers.

In space, worry about the kinetic energy released toward you unless you are tethered to something. Probably not a whole lot, but may send you spinning. Keep your calibers small. Stick with shooting space squirrels not larger space game.
