Don't take the fact that women are reported more frequently than men to mean they exhibit more mental illness. Women go to the doctor more frequently and are more likely to be totally honest about their symptoms. Men are more stoic and "suffer in silence".

I don't know what to make of the liberal/conservative differences other than to suggest that conservative women are more likely to believe in God. That Belief comforts and sustains them and may account for better mental health.
