I agree with all of this, but as a Quebecer (the province with the most deaths in all of Canada so far) the problem is that our public health system and infrastructure is so shit (in spite of the endless amount of tax money we put into it) that it didn't take too many COVID cases and hospitalizations to send the entire system into a tizzy. We're afraid that our hospitals will be overrun, causing us to have to defer/delay treatments/surgeries/procedures that are not immediately life-threatening. This pandemic is revealing the years and years of mismanagement of our tax dollars, because our public health system is not as solid as we were led to believe. Health is the biggest line item on our budget, and we still can't get our shit together. It's embarrassing.
