You don't even know how important this is to American families! Students are failing their online classes. Parents cannot cope with the children's educational supervision, they're just not good at it and really hate having to do it.
The kids are getting psychologically weird from the long confinement! College students are pining to be back on campus and having in-person classes. Everybody is absolutely at the end of their rope!!!
This is a major disruption to family life, and it's getting to be downright torturous!!! Promise that you will help!!!
Teacher here, and I agree with your sentiment, but the vaccine isn't the answer. Sanity is.
Kids are the least vulnerable to the Wuhan virus. Community spread in schools is negligible. The "solution" is far more dangerous to kids than the virus itself. We need to be back in school!
I'm not taking the vaccine, even if my district were to require it.
I'm so glad to hear from teachers who are sane! Frankly, I agree that vaccines are not the answer. But it might serve to remove the excuse that kids can't go to school because of covid. If course it absolutely MUST be optional!!!
