I have had patients die because of a single day delay in picking up their prescriptions. I have had patients who committed suicide because they ran out of money for food. There are many who can only access a single store because it's the only one on the bus route from their house and they're elderly, disabled, and don't have family to bring them things. Imagine the death toll now. I am so disgusted at the medical community and their enabling of these petty brutal tyrants.
The article only really talks about big cities... As usual. But at least there if one walmart closes there are 3 others and many other groceries nearby.
In our rural area there is 1 Walmart supercenter, two medium sized grocery stores, and too small grocery stores to serve a county of 70,000 people and in wider area of over 100,000. And it's the holidays when people are trying to buy special foods especially since all we can do is stay at home.
Our local grocery was closed last week but allowed to reopen yesterday after TONS of pressure from local officials and media.
But all this past week there have been two hour lines to get into any grocery store anywhere near us.
But now they have to have a hired Security guard standing at the front counting how many enter and ensure everyone is masked.
Why is there not a massive group of pitchfork weilding Patriots outside the governor's mansion at this very moment?! If Newsom pulled this kind of shit his home in El Dorado Hills would be surrounded right now.
