Bongino has said on his show a few times that his old coworkers at the SS have first hand knowledge of some of the shadiness (I think one of them was on the plane with WJC). He teased the story but firmly stated that he didnt want to break confidence and that it wasn't his story to break. He was hoping his friend would come forward on his own soon, which is sure to be career (and likely literal) suicide.
