It's kind of amazing, really. If you don't try to cheat the system, bully, enslave, and dehumanize people, if you play a fair and honest game, you don't have to worry about Karma coming knocking at your door.
The only reason they resort to this behavior is because they know they're guilty. I know it's not so simple but the guilty at all levels typically come defensive first and roll through the tricks as needed. Until they wear us down or divert attention otherwise.
This is how I think of it myself and I like to simplify for delivery to normies.
