Yeah when you have to fire multiple top officials at the pentagon for lying to the president about troop deployments (if that's not sedition I don't know what is) compromised is the nicest way you can put it.
And, if it's discovered/provable that EU agencies were involved, especially Merkel's people, especially if Merkel herself knew about and was involved, it's going to have very interesting geo-political implications.
