The "hospitals at capacity" canard fills me with rage.
I've explained a thousand and one times to idiots that hospitals are ALWAYS near capacity. That's what "capacity" is. No one builds a hospital with hundreds of spare rooms that sit empty for years waiting for an epidemic.
Exactly. If anything, they're typical run slightly over capacity as evidenced by the fact that all young doctors are nearly criminally overworked.
So if any hospital is currently slightly under capacity, that's actually evidence that fewer people than normal are going to the hospital thanks to this "epidemic".
