I humbly submit for your consideration:

Each time a person posts an "Upvote this to..." post, please write a script that instead deducts those upvotes instead of adds them to the fake point whore.

The upvotes would otherwise work as normal, they would raise the post up the page, garnering more upvotes, but each one would be deducted from the user's total.
