My parents have been doomers. Trying to give them faith that things will work out has been an uphill battle. They have just been demoralized over decades of seeing the Republicans roll over for the Democrats. Trump will win his second term, I have very high confidence of this it is important for us to keep the candle lit for people who will join us once they are no longer demoralized.
My boomer parents have not been doomers at ALL in fact quite the opposite. I used to have to inform them of goings on and now they know things before I do.

The reason we bust balls is to confirm if someone is worth having any form of non romantic relationship with. If you can’t stand a little ball busting, or take it as a sign to toughen up, there is no reason to continue having any form of human relationship with you.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are two different things.
The phrase "forgive and forget" is foolish. Always remember, never forget who has harmed you and may harm you again.
However, Jesus taught us the lesson of forgiveness. We must forgive ourselves, and should probably forgive others wherever possible, at least inwardly. Whether that forgiveness takes on an outward gesture to the actual person is less important than the internal forgiveness we grant the person through letting go. However the outward forgiveness gesture can be a very powerful force of good, too.
Lack of forgiveness of others creates a constant state of strain in your relationships. Lack of forgiveness inwardly to others, and especially to one's self, is a recipe for failure.
