Upvote for the positivity, but do you not see the value in strategizing with those who can provide a pessimistic viewpoint?
If you were an engineer building bridges, would you demand your team only to speak when they had great news? Would the guy who pointed out that your concrete mix was prone to failure be shouted out of the room?
A strong team is made up of optimism and the ability to critique that which is lackluster. We are much stronger when we allow the full range of reactions to be heard, so we can avoid fluffing each other up to the point of becoming blind to our own shortcomings.
Of course, you aren't wrong on a technicality. I don't want to put words in your mouth, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think here that it would make sense to bring on realists, not pessimists. A realist would tell you the odds, but also wouldn't be an outright optimist, or doomer.
We also all have to remember that we're fighting a war for the survival of our Republic. Morale is important in war, and if we have too many people demoralizing instead of providing a template for the way forward, then it's only going to hurt our cause, not benefit it.
Basically, I'd just like to see some of the more pessimistic folks become realists, instead of pessimists.
That’s funny because every time I try to be realistic on TD I get called a fucking doomer and it is childish as shit. I basically took a year off work to volunteer for the campaign’s efforts in my state (and we won in one of the most important battlegrounds).
I’m not a fucking doomer. I gave a huge portion of my time to help this year, and that is way more helpful to the campaign than posting memes on a website.
It is hilarious to be called a doomer by someone who has more likely than not done absolutely nothing to actually help the campaign get out the vote.
Doomers are not valuable assets, but pessimistic "moraledestroyers" that does not provide constructive criticism.
Doomers are demoralized victims of a psychological campaign to turn positive, hopeful, constructive Trumpers into negative, hopeless, miserable and destructive members of our community.
Doomers are still people, even possible trumpsupporters. The problem is that they are either knowingly or unknowingly spreading democratic propaganda and lies. By buying into the shilling and falling for the grand lie they spread it to their surroundings. They amplify the signal.
"Treat doomers with love and kindness, they cant help being fucked up, but get them the fuck out off our High Energy Hivemind!"
The point is TD has always been high energy only because wave after wave of shills. If you say "okay some low energy/blackpilling okay" it just becomes 80% fake accounts ruining the energy and the site/forum/subreddit dies. It has to be high energy only or it doesn't exist at all.
That isn't because we need a "safe space" it is because we've already seen we get no space at all if we are not crystal clear on negativity. Yes that means we can lose some deeper debates/content but it is that or nothing.

If doom is the reality ... then a realist would also be a doomer/pesimist.
But the thing is, it ain't the reality.
Also, nice username, lol.
IF. Thanks
you can be a realist without being a doomer
you can ask hard questions without destroying morale
