If that starts to change as these cases proceed, there is direct evidence to determine whether a batch of ballots was handled by individual voters or whether it was fake.

A stack of ballots submitted by voters should have an individual set of fingerprints on each ballot in addition to the people who handled the ballot. A stack of fake ballots should have only the fingerprints of a small group of people. With an entire box of ballots, the difference should be stark. This applies to all states with questionable late ballots.
