I also used to be on the left. I had a vision of a better world and the conservatives were holding onto the past because of reasons. I was on the ground level sacrificing and helping the least among us because I saw them as individuals who had been wronged by the system.
Things changed for me when I saw that we weren't helping the less fortunate, the people above me were using us and our ideals as a way of consolidating wealth and power for themselves at our expense.
At some point it stopped being about helping people and it started being about using their pain for raw power and political gain and I realized that they had used my good intentions to feed their monstrous ambitions.
I switched when they started putting things I held sacred on the sacrificial alter - free speech, free thought, individualism, humor, etc.
So when I see an average left-leaning person I don't see a demon, I see someone being led by a darker power who uses their goodheartedness against them.
If your stockholm syndrome makes you take actions against my family, get fucked.
Im glad that some of you have suffered no real pain over the last 25 years, but my family has suffered immeasurably due to these frauds. And now, when they think Biden is winning, all they can do is continue to be petulant little assholes.

It's more like they're fellow adults who have been targeted by the cynical Human Suppression Brigade by preying on their goodness, idealism, and desire for human equality.
Don't judge the group by its worst members, especially since many of those have been bought and paid for.
Part of my family are Libs. Some of my business associates are Libs. And every youngish person I meet and get to know for more than one minute are pretty much all Libs. They all watch MSM. I have had zero experiences like you. All of them have TDS and are not rational. No manner of calm and collective reasoning will persuade them to even consider thinking Trump is not a bad person. So I really don't feel that what you are suggesting as a path dor ua to take is valid. I also feel itnis kind of pandering and bending over to people who have been vile to us. I won't raise a hand until they do, of course, but I'm not accepting that they are just normal people, like us, who want what we want. No way. Maybe in your circle it's lile that but not mine, nor anywhere else I have read about or seen.
