The more great people I hear from and meet, the more excited I am about an eternity with, not only them, but Jesus and God. You just can't fathom it. Once we're there all of this corruption will be nonexistent. We may even laugh about it. Having front row seats to watch all of this get thrown into the lake of fire will be the ultimate payoff.

Me too. I am about a third of the way through the Catholic Catechism. Found an old school traditional Latin Mass parish. How old school? They come right out and say you cannot be both a Democrat and a Catholic. God bless you and may our Lord Jesus Christ pour out His graces and blessings on you and your family.

Trumpman1 23 points ago +23 / -0

That statement might be right up there with "I was a Democrat before Trump".

I think you would be surprised just how many people your post above is going to relate to. I was in the same state, but probably at a lesser level and over a longer period of time. When I started listening to Trump in 2015, I was hooked. The message I heard was that of a man who believed in God as I do, and believed that America was founded on Christian values, and he wanted to bring us back to that, among other things.

This really is the battle between Good and Evil. Somehow, in the end, I know that Good will prevail. You're on the right path, pede. Glad to have you alongside on the walk. In Trump's words, even just days ago... "WE WILL WIN".

I followed him from the Pulse shooting when TD was the only place with info. Trump winning the election helped inspire me to reach out for help from a 6 year alcoholism streak. I’m 4 years sober as of last week because the man gave me some actual hope for the future.

Born to late to explore the Earth

Born To early to explore the stars

But lived during the age of Donald J. Trump

So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Thanks for saying that. I need to stop worrying and focus on bettering myself. It's easy to get depressed when you know what's really going on behind the scenes and most people just don't want to see it.

One of the most touching parables by Jesus:

"Coming to his senses he thought, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food to eat, but here am I, dying from hunger.

I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.

I no longer deserve to be called your son; treat me as you would treat one of your hired workers.”’

So he got up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him.

His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.’

But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.

Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.’ Then the celebration began."

The Prodigal Son's father was probably waiting for him outside his tent, wondering "When will my son come home?" The words are that the father ran to his son.

Boundless forgiveness and grace for those who return to Him.

Tears in my eyes just reading this.

God modelled our human relationships on spiritual realities. Before there ever was a man and a woman, who could relate and have a child, before even the first atom was created, there was GOD THE FATHER and his SON Jesus, and we who were yet to be created were destined to be His adopted children. He welcomes each of us back to his family as the earthly father welcomes his prodigal son.

It rocks my mind that so many supposedly "intelligent" people don't recognize the sheer mastery, beauty, and poetry of God's eternal plan.

Wow. Thanks, this really hits the nail on the head. I would add, something that gets me thinking when I'm eating or drinking something very tasteful or very filling: when I start to thank God it strikes me that He created the very taste buds that allow me to enjoy that food! So what to thank Him for first, food or taste buds 🤷😄

The desire for justice also reminds me of Abraham, who "searched for a city with foundations, whose builder and maker is God."

Thanks, this was very enlightening.

What's so amazing is to be here on this edgy, frequently profane, non-mainstream site and to unexpectedly come across such wholesome, tear-provoking moments as this.

This site is everything the left fears. Here we are Christians, atheists, and everything in between. We are also of almost every race out there but we all work together and get along. We may disagree at times but we’re all adults and know how to deal with our differences. TDW is the personification of the American dream. And how those of us who are Christians embody the teachings of Christ. I love you all, my pede brothers and sisters!

12
The_Big_Guy 12 points ago +12 / -0

And we love you too. Happy Thanksgiving, fellow patriot!

Always remember that God experienced humans through Jesus Christ and fell in love with a species he once flattened with floods. For God loved those who sinned but truly knew not the weight of those sins so much thay they were granted salvation and invitation to Heaven through Jesus Christ.

9
Packman928 9 points ago +9 / -0

God sent Jesus because he already loved us. It’s like he loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever might believe in him wouldn’t die, but have everlasting life.

10
Trumpman1 10 points ago +10 / -0

lol... yes, we are a wild bunch, but there is a thread of the very core of what made America that runs through most (99%) of the pedes on this site. This is One Nation, Under God...

Prayer. For change to happen, hearts need to be moved. Only grace can achieve that. With prayer comes teaching by example, too. Stay in touch with your loved ones who have gone astray. Pray for them. Sacrifices both voluntary and involuntary are also prayer. When the time comes and loved ones have a change of heart, a little nudge by a kind word will tip the scales.

God is good always.

God is many things, omnipotent, omnipresent, outside of time and space, the list goes on and on. But two aspects stand out.

God is 100% Love and 100% Just (as in justice).

He could punish us all for our rebellion against him, and he would be justified in doing so, but it wouldn't be loving. He could forgive us all instantly, and that would be very loving, but without any justice. Someone has to pay the price for our sins.

The only path to our forgiveness that is 100% Loving and 100% Just is for God himself to take on our punishment for us. He paid our debt. The most powerful and sovereign being, the one who created it all, volunteered to be beaten, stabbed, spit on, crucified, and killed... For us. For you.

Honoring your right to free will, he won't force himself on you. What he did was a gift, a free gift, all you have to do is reach out and take it. All you have to do is say "I acknowledge that Jesus is the son of God, that Jesus is the Messiah, that Jesus died for me and rose again and will one day return to reign supreme. I accept that Jesus is my savior and my King, and I am his servant."
