Well I did wear hearing aids when I was a kid and have been to a turkey farm.
I may have heard them gobbling around but I couldn't decipher the sound to the point where I know it's the gobbling sound and not the tractor, not the cars that's going by (the farm was by the highway) and all that.
So yeah I "heard" them gobbling but not to the point where I can hear them clear as day.
But your interpretation of the gobbling sound gave me a good laugh!
It occured to me that you may never have heard a turkey gobble before. I sincerely wish that weren’t true. I shall describe it the best way I can:
