Since the machine is open to manipulation, you might as well use a voter-ID fingerprint recognizing ballot shredder.

Yes - voting should be a celebrated community event, but with the security and a surveillance of a casino.

Ballots should be like money - with the security features of a $100 bill, and traceable. They should be kept on file until the next election year.

Hospital’s used to have to keep a patient’s paper chart for 10 years.

With blue ink on the finger / thumb / dick / whatever... and death penalty for cheaters... or at least cut off a hand...

Any computer programmer would tell you that computerised voting machines is an insane idea. All computers can be hacked.

Only a very dumbed down population would accept this without questioning.

Need an EO on election integrity. Also, counting must be video recorded!

I’ve posted this before, and I’ll post it again. The only way to regain trust in elections...

  1. Standard format paper ballot across the whole country.

  2. Standard set of rules for counting across the whole country.

  3. No early voting. No mass mail-in voting. Those who absolutely must vote by mail (people traveling for business, people in the hospital etc) must prove ahead of time that they need a mail in ballot.

  4. All voters must display a voter ID. Upon voting, all voters must dip a finger in election ink.

  5. All precincts must have at least 1 observer from the left, right and independents.

  6. All filled out ballots are placed in a sealed box, not computerized counting machine.

  7. After the final voter casts their vote, the sealed box is opened in full view of all observers and ballots are counted at the precinct, not trucked into a central location. All ballots must be counted in full view of all observers. In addition to the observers, every counting table has a camera over it, allowing anyone in the country to log into any counting table cam at any time. If a camera goes down, counting stops at that table until the situation can be fixed. Any ballot that cannot be interpreted is discarded.

  8. Vote tallies are reported to the state election commission on the same night from every precinct using an official online system. All observers from each party must approve the number on the screen before the count is submitted. Anyone in the country can log in at any time to see the results from every precinct reported live.

  9. All counted and discarded ballots are stored at the town/city hall for at least 10 years.

I think both would be best, in order to create the most oversight and receipts. They could easily make a voting machine that simply prints out ballot receipts; one for the voter, one for the vote counting people, and one for auditors. It wouldn't even need to keep a count itself.
