If there was a water leak here’s how I think it would play out. As an hvac service tech. 10pm water leak 10:15-10:20 call a plumber after hours. Unless this plumber is gods gift to plumbers he’s not rushing out of his house. 10:45 on route I’m given 30min drive time and live in a small city. So I’ll give them the benefit and say 30 minute drive time. 11:45 arrive 12:00 find the “leak” and decide what to do. If this leak is big enough to evacuate it’s gotta be pretty big. Water does some pretty gnarly damage. 12:15 water is isolated at a shut off. 12:35 tools are inside and he begins to cut, sand, flux, solder. 1:15 water is back on. And no leak.

This plumber is on overtime and is gonna be paid. That’s why we do what we do. He’s gotta get an invoice signed off to leave a paper trail. He’s gotta write a description of work done and why. Parts used and time. And get a signature from someone in charge.

Where is the invoice?
