In my clerkship I assisted my circuit court judge in drafting numerous precedential opinions deciding difficult cases and questions of law. I have taught law in a top 10 law school. I have practiced law for more than 20 years. I claim to be qualified to have an opinion about Supreme Court decisions and the opinions that explain those opinions.
I just finishing reading the set of opinions issued in the Court's decision in this case. Look, I've been following Chief Justice Robert's slide away from conservative Constitutional analysis, beginning with his opinion in the key Obamacare appeal. Even so, I was shocked by the superficiality of his explanation as to why he voted the same as the ultra-liberal wing of the Court.
I'm telling you, Chief Justice Roberts is gone. He is now a member of the Left Wing. It is a 5-4 Court, not 6-3. Why this happened, I don't know. It's not explainable by normal analysis. Did somebody mention the Lolita Express? Not me!
