During the years of the "American Revolutionary War"; nearly every great power/country on earth, and a great number of native tribes (here, there and everywhere) also declared war on Great Britain during this same timeframe. Our Founding Father's wouldn't have "won" if it was just the rebels(Whigs) vs royalists(Tories).
