The "melting pot" metaphor is wrong within the context of diversity. The "melting pot" theory works well if different ethnicities share similar beliefs and value systems. If they don't, then we are witnessing what is happening today in our country. Diversity of ideas are needed in the context of looking for the best solutions for an issue. Diversity of identity is the driver to wreck civilization.

The problem is that culture is rooted in genetics. Individual people of an ethnicity that votes overwhelmingly socialist might have based conservative values, but their children are likely to have socialist values in line with their ethnicity.

So for example if a race votes 60/40 conservative and socialist, but you introduce people of a race that votes 80% socialist, you're going to end up with a socialist society in a generation or two.

Identity is not about a specific race or even ethnicity. It is about a value and belief system. I am not white or even religious, but I do have common or shared beliefs with a typical white protestant believer.
