Those who own are at an advantage to those who rent. They either sell the property at a loss, or they declare bankruptcy. Either way, they're just as free to move as the renters.
It is being comfortable where you are, even if where you are objectively sucks, that is the problem, not mobility.
Detroit is the main city. With a city that large, there are sure to be other decently sized cities and suburbs bordering it, and a few more rural areas as well. Counties are pretty large. So is Detroit, but it's not COUNTY sized.
Like, I don't live far from Pittsburgh PA. It's in Allegheny county, and the city has a lot of people, but outside that there is still forests and stuff where people live in the same county, as well as smaller cities and towns.
Of course, when you live in a county with a massive city, your politics are pretty much dictated by that city if you live in a more rural area. You're pretty much just along for the ride.
I dont think any of them are MN. I think that got straightened out. Someone mistook MI and MN. They were listing Detroit Lakes, Frazee, and others that were all in lakes country where a lot of MSP millionaires have lake homes. I assume some shenanigans there also with double voting.
Detroit Precincts Are NO LONGER REPORTING PUBLICLY! These numbers will only get worse as more information becomes available.
Sounds about right.

Hey, at least you guys have the Lions. Oh wait...
At least you have the Tigers... no that's not it...
The red wings?
Why do people live in Wayne county again?
Wings held the city together for years, and by that I mean drove suburbanites downtown to spend money.
Now...not so much.
Detroit is a failed city black hole that is pulling Michigan into the status of Failed State
It's too bad they had to start sucking so bad right when they went to the new stadium. They couldn't even get that thing half full!
Detroit style Pizza...maybe?
You mean the casserole? oh wait that's Chicago Pizza.
Well, we've got the Silverdome.
Wait...
Well, they are tearing the abandoned buildings down faster now and there's less lead in the soil than expected?
I figured it out. It's the roads! They're great right? Stretchen said we're fixing them!
Because they love the tropical weather and rolling hills.
Cant sell their worthless property, stuck. Although those who rent idk why

Is wayne county just Detroit or are there near suburbs that also get held prisoner by Detroit?
Suburbs too. Over a million plus live in Wayne county, outside of Detroit.

I concur.

It's easy to fake a Detroit address when there are so many abandoned/condemned houses and other buildings in the city.
Wait they can do that?
I dont think any of them are MN. I think that got straightened out. Someone mistook MI and MN. They were listing Detroit Lakes, Frazee, and others that were all in lakes country where a lot of MSP millionaires have lake homes. I assume some shenanigans there also with double voting.
Isn't Grand Rapids also in lakes country? That's where Gerald Ford was from, right? ;)
Wait.....I thought Grand Rapids, Michigan had the big paper mill? Judy Garland is from there?
Grand Rapids, MI is in Kent County. Known for the furniture industry historically. Steelcase is from here, Herman Miller is not far either.
Ford is from MI, Garland is from MN.
