Why can't Christians believe in god like Hindus do? You don't have to have a public figure to tell you how to pray or what to believe in... I am a Hindu but nobody can tell me how to practice my religion, one can just practice whatever and however he feels is right.

So Philip ran up to the chariot and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah. He asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?" He replied, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him.

To each their own.

That's how most Protestants practice. Catholics and Orthodox have a hierarchy. I think it's fine until you get... stuff like this.

Nature is imbued with hierarchies. It’s how God created the universe. God himself is at the top of the ultimate hierarchy. To stray from this natural order is to stray from your intended purpose. Protestants decided to do so. The result is that there are now 40000 different denominations across the planet, divided. They are legion for they are many. But a house divided cannot stand. These denominations spring up and die out again just as fast. Of course each one claims to be the one and only way to salvation. Each one has to reinvent the wheel because they reject all authority of their mother organization (except the Bible for some reason). This makes it easy for the enemy to plant dangerous ideas into their minds. This is why you need an authority. Not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you on your path towards salvation. Ultimately Christianity is a voluntary path so you are always free to reject help, but it’s nice to know that it’s there when you need it.
