Not sure how relevant. I overcame 2 addictions in my life. Fairly recently (a few years). While neither was alcohol, the turning point was when I told myself that I'd have to suffer and I accepted the fact that I'd have to suffer. I didn't want to be such a weak man than ran from pain. Its still tough sometimes, but surely gets easier.

Of course, its a huge gain overall.

The initial suffering is horrible. And once I accepted that it would he horrible I was able to get through it. So just suffer through it and stay the course. We can be incredible men.

While I'm on my soap box let me tell you something else. God has tried to raise up men, "Christian" men, so called "Godly"men, "church-going" men. And they have flat out failed and rejected him and his teachings. God won't be denied his harvest. Since the churches have failed so miserably, God will literally now call up the "bums on the street" to lead this country back to God, just as he called the Democrat billionaire playboy out of New York City.

I've never been more certain of anything; us so called degenerates/addicts are being called to fulfill what the churches have failed to do. I have no doubt you feel something from within that tells you that you no longer have an option to stay clean, no more fence sitting. The time is now.

You need to have the courage to decide that Its not an option anymore. Time to suffer; and I say that boldly because You will suffer and no one else can do it for you. You will go through a river of fire and hell to come out pure on the other side.

Hey. Sorry I don't want to beat a dead horse. But I wanted to tell you one mire thing. The teachings of jesse lee peterson(youtube search) really helped me overcome addictions. Particularly to not ever judge yourself, and to not pay too much attention to your thoughts. It really changed the way I look at my own thoughts and my life and at God.
