Fox News is taking action to stave off newfound competition from Newsmax TV. Producers on some Fox programs have been told to monitor Newsmax's guest bookings and throw some sand in Newsmax's gears by encouraging guests who appear on both channels to stop saying yes to the upstart.

According to Fox sources, producers were told to avoid some regular guests if they kept showing up on Newsmax after being encouraged to stop. Management's goal: to remind guests who's boss in the right-wing media world.

Talk about petty. They cant hold their audience so they have to yo attack another station. I am staying on OANN they were the only one showing Rudy Giuliani hearings the other day.

Fox is worse than all of them. They went out of there way to lie to us for ratings and to sell books. They have done it to themselves. They think we will all be back but not this time. They showed total disdain for us. Fuck them

Newsmax is nice to shift to during the day as OANN suffers from really bad story repetition. I still prefer OANN's evening lineup though because it's what I'm used to.

OANN, being all day, it does get repetitive. Don't get Newsmax.

Plutotv only has oan encore, which is delayed and repeated oan. I'm not sure what the delay is, but it's not the same as the oan channel.

Free on klowdtv, but no newsmax there.

Ya I definitely want to see both grow, Fox was able to create this mess we’re in now because they held the power alone in the media and they abused it. Having 2 or maybe even 3 major conservative stations should keep anyone of them from ever getting the power to backstab this nation again.

It's incredible really. Fox getting the biggest and no real competition in the right-wing news space? Something fishy there. Hopefully on its way to being fixed.

We've been having trouble streaming OANN on Klowd. Not sure if their infrastructure hasn't kept up with their surge in popularity.

I cannot take the female reporters eyebrows in the morning on OAN. There are two with badly over defined brows. I don’t need fox’s flashy production, but it’d be nice not to be distracted by clownish appearances.

Greg Kelly on Newsmax at 7:00 is always great.

story repetition is a problem with 24/7 'news'. the arguing talking head format that fox brought to the forefront was a ratings boon. it fills in the time that there is nothing really going on of which there is a lot of. cnn quickly copied it then pegged it to 11.

that there is competition now is good for them. they just do not know it yet.

however, keep an eye on them. most journalists that graduate for this kind of work think they are 'going to change the world'. when the reality is they will either be filing out mad-libs style puff pieces or reading the script off a teleprompter that the poor shlub in the back had to fill in the mad-libs style news article. the competition is fierce. so the pay is low as supply outstrips demand by a good margin. many have changed to 'creating content' instead of 'investigation'. meaning they can crank out an article in 2-3 hours instead of spending months looking into something. because either way they are getting paid the same for the 1 article. some are finding work in the youtube world but you can have your entire income shut off by the click of a button and you are deplatformed instantly so they follow the 'mob ideals'.
