I've given that some thought, and whether intentional or not, I think the media have soften the targets (the minds of the people) through endless bombardment about Covid and the need to panic.
The people, in their media created panic, turn to the government for salvation.

Stop the testing. Protect the innocent. If your sick stay home. If you need hospitalization get checked only then.
Exercise safe practices. Never shut down business.
