Hey everyone.
First off, you are all doing a wonderful job keeping up with the continual influx of users. You are all awesome, and I hope your Thanksgiving was great!
We, as you know, have seen an uptick of shills, attempting to get people to click on redirect to malware. This is something that we have been fighting for quite some time now.
How does the deport process work? When someone hits deport, it send you all a notification or something? Is there any way that we could get another category for deportation that deals with this item specifically, that can make it a higher priority.
It's a shame to see posts that get reported for deportation still be up for quite some time and, possibly, infecting our glorious community with something nasty.
Is that... is that an actual attempt to answer someones question? Instead of just railing on somebody for having the audacity to ask a question? Cheers, good man!
Thank you for your help in this. Which works for my suggestion of making certain reports high priority so it can bypass the queue so it can be handled quicker.
Before you make complaints, maybe read the rules and sidebar? To communicate with the Mods, look there. The Mods do not scroll through here looking for problems. Deportation is self-explanatory. It's everyone's job to deport promptly.
I wasn't making a complaint, simply asking a question.
I've talked to mods this way before. You might have noticed that I put their names in the post. They see that.
Deportation isn't as self explanatory as you claim. Yes, you deport someone, a mod is notified, and they come review. I was asking for a more in depth process.
I spend a LOT of time on here deporting shills. I'm doing my part. Are you?
Also, doing it this way allows the community to discuss the idea, and add to it.
A post or comment disappears precisely because it is BAD for the site. It's inappropriate, off topic, would make the site or our president look bad, would give ammo to our enemies who troll her.
The system is what it is. It's been working like a champ. I find it strange how people just feel free to jump on the Mods like this--oh, that terrible post didn't disappear quickly enough. They're volunteers. They built the site and maintain it. Enjoy the site.
"First off, you are all doing a wonderful job keeping up with the continual influx of users. You are all awesome, and I hope your Thanksgiving was great!" muh JuMpInG oN tHe MoDs... get serious, lol
You act like I was attacking the mods. What, am I not ALLOWED to ask questions? Asking for an addition isn't me jumping on the mods. If you noticed, The first half of the post is thanking them for all of their hard work.
Chill it Karen.
Because the rules and sidebar explain how deportation works.. also, it's not self explanatory. I've wondered myself how it works behind the scenes, what the process is.
"Behind the scenes" doesn't concern us. To deport: click on "deport" and a small window opens with a short list for which rule was broken. There is also "other" if the reason isn't on the list. Then "submit." That's it.
Ah. Thanks, glad you cleared that up, what "concerns" me, or anyone else. Some people here never cease to amaze me.
If you don't understand how deportation works --almost every commenting site has comment removal procedures, and here you are snarky--well, you amaze me too. Do you think you should give instructions to the Mods? Monitor what they deport, LOL? Yes. Some people here are AMAZING.
Indeed! I've yet to see a single person in this thread attempt to give instructions to anyone... other than you :)
LOL, I was asked to, by one person.
Have a nice day.
