Had a long talk w/retired military officer recently. Salt of the earth sort. Was a very young solider during final months of Vietnam. Was an officer during Desert Storm, etc.
Spent last four years at the Pentagon before retirement which including being there during the 2001 terror attack.
He told me this election situation, including the Covid stuff, appears to have all the makings of a U.S. intelligence operation and that there's been an ongoing war within the DoD since WWII ended that has tentacles (his term!) into nearly every facet of U.S. government, media, Wall Street, etc.
When I asked about social media he remarked "They exist because we (government agencies) allow it-period. And we allow it because it serves a purpose."
I pressed him on what that purpose was. He started to clam up at that point. I persisted. Thanks for noticing! I like to contribute but keep it low key. I try to be a keen observer of the innerworkings of the administration which should lead to clues in the direction of current affairs. I'll just say that my past and current roles give me unique insight. One question I have is where do the Powell lawsuits fit in with all this? They are civil lawsuits not criminal as of right now I don't know she has the authority to bring criminal charges on behalf of the government.
If i had to guess they serve twofold purposes; raising the issue in the public's eye, and casting doubt on the process, and secondly, and less likely getting actual votes thrown out by the courts. Judges are loathe to throw out votes, even when there's evidence of fraud. I think the purpose is more number 1 and possibly to run out the clock as I have seen suggested so the state legislatures pick the electors. But again, hard for me to really drill down with any certainty the actual purpose of the civil lawsuits.
I'm confused about 12 and 13. I thought SCIFS were a place where there are no electronic or recording devices allowed so you can view classified information without it leaking outside. One question I have is where do the Powell lawsuits fit in with all this? They are civil lawsuits not criminal as of right now I don't know she has the authority to bring criminal charges on behalf of the government.
If i had to guess they serve twofold purposes; raising the issue in the public's eye, and casting doubt on the process, and secondly, and less likely getting actual votes thrown out by the courts. Judges are loathe to throw out votes, even when there's evidence of fraud. I think the purpose is more number 1 and possibly to run out the clock as I have seen suggested so the state legislatures pick the electors. But again, hard for me to really drill down with any certainty the actual purpose of the civil lawsuits.

I'm confused about 12 and 13. I thought SCIFS were a place where there are no electronic or recording devices allowed so you can view classified information without it leaking outside. That's like the opposite of what you're saying it is. If they entered a SCIF they would have 0 communication with the outside or know anything about what was going on with the election.
Some SCIFs have unclass communication devices and unclass networks. However the devices in there stay in there. You can't have personal communication devices or computers with which to communicate to the outside world. Only way to reach out is via the secured devices present within the SCIF. Many security and/or network operation watchfloors for military commands and fed agencies exist within SCIFs for security purposes.
I dont really understand the MCM stuff and why she is relevant in military law unless there is a major player in the service who helped out. Even then The convening authority would have to be on board and the Military judge.... The MCM covers VERY few people .....those subject to the code of military justice
