Although this statement has many odd inclusions, they would put this statement out whether innocent or not. They want to protect themselves to the fullest extent of the law. Even if they did illegal stuff, they still want to protect themselves. Also, if they did do everything asserted in Powell’s complaint, they may as well double down on the lie.
