Funny cause when I was out earlier I heard a family member talking about this woman building a speakeasy underground in her basement. I was outside hearing it through the screen since the door window thing was open so I didn't hear everything but that was the gist of it and word used. Not sure if speakeasy is the right term for it since alcohol isn't outlawed here but I suppose it might be considered one if you don't care to do that liquor license bullshit to make it ok in the eyes of the state.
My grandparents had a full bar in their basement that had you not walked into their house and down the stairs first, you would've thought you just walked into any local pub. My grandpa served in WW2 so this was post prohibition, so I guess they were just having a good fuckin time in their day.
Yea my parents had a bar in their basement, one of those legit ones built in and the structure was bolted to the foundation. Nothing like those dinky fake ones you can wheel around. House was built in the late 60s I think and they bought it from the original owner in the 80s. Could probably fit 5 stools or so at it. Was just used for when they had a party.
At the dinner table tonight with the family, when it was my turn I gave thanks for us being in FL. Not a native, but I am grateful that my job brought me here. My hometown is fucked and I'm glad I'm no longer there. Saw my local bars here packed last night while driving around and smiled. Not a religious person either, but praying for based MI, that I've spent a lot of time in, to boot Stretchin Gretchen to the curb.
Huntington, Indiana. Mayor just banned live music/karaoke as long as the virus is present within the county at any infection rate. Vaccine won’t be 100% effective so he just bankrupted my business.

I'm considering it given the mayor just banned karaoke, and I am a karaoke DJ so I am broke until he lifts the order (never).
Out of curiosity, what city are you DJ'ing in?

Fuck, reason I asked was I've got a friend in fuckin Portland that does the same thing, but had no clue it was hitting Indy at the same level.
Red state, red county, commie mayor.
