most of them are brainwashed to put it in perspective at the end of 1945 when ww2 was over most Germans refused to believe they had slaughtered 6million Jews. It was only when the US army made regular people clean out all the corpses from the concentration camps they finally work up.

And of-course then you also got the bad actors filled by rage and ideology who simply don't care
