But enough of his colleagues need to support it in order for it to pass.

Typically what happens is each event (email, phone, letter, etc.) is logged on a "for/ against' tally sheet.
Written stuff going to official addresses (email, office via snail mail)- I believe- become part of official records.
So, call and be prepared for two versions: 1) short, sweet- this is the action I want, 2) if you get to talk to someone, "This is the action I want and here is why"

In the event that they do not take action, as demanded, on behalf of their constituents, we want to have a LOT of records to hang around their necks that they must answer for.

I've been getting constant fundraising texts and emails for GOP candidates from all over the country for months. So if they want to collect money from out of state people, they should accept our opinions as well.

Consider, if Trump won by fraud, especially on this scale, would you support Trump and have any confidence whatsoever about your say in the direction of the country? No one is going to take the time to verify you when calling or emailing. They will take note of your message, add your contact info to a list, and send out a canned letter in response. Big deal.
Area code is an easy way to count, although obviously there are people who moved from other states. Like I still get constant Georgia texts even though I haven't lived there in forever , politicians could easily choose to only tally people with an area code in their constituency
