Newsmax caters to a select consumer group, but they are a business first and foremost. They swear no allegiance. If they were to get a better deal, or were guaranteed to make more money catering to a different audience, they would do it in a heartbeat.
The owners used to be against Trump, and donated to Clinton before the last election. The market was already swamped for news channels, there were many left leaning channels, and very few right leaning. Even the ones that claimed to be more right leaning were, in fact, more neutral then right. Trump won in 2016, and with the lack of strict right leaning channels, Newsmax found a niche.
With the uncertainty today, Newsmax is on THIN ice. Look at Fox. Newsmax is NOT your friend. They will do exactly what Fox did in a heartbeat, especially considering their ownership/origin. They are finally large enough to have a say in the MSM. Watch how quickly they will turn, now.
