Mackey isn't Amazon. He's and old hippie that started a grocery store chain and then bought into the system after he saw his bank statement one day. Then he sold to Amazon and agreed to be the col. Sanders of the chain if he kept getting paid.

This article/thread could be called "old, extremely short, and now extremely rich hippie realized he was wrong entirely".

What the hell? Is WHOLE FOODS based? Honestly them and Sprouts would be some of the absolute last stores I would think would be even neutral politically.

Exactly. He’s a great thinker and yes, sold to Amazon...so what? He’s capitalist. Much of college is the problem - specifically the admin and academic class: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rYPp4ofXAs

Sprouts was started by some rich dorks that did nothing but build companies TO be sold/bought. They literally thought they'd be bought by wholefoods years ago but... oops, Amazon. Their entire concept was to move into WFM controlled areas, surround their core stores and throw money at marketing in an attempt to choke WF sales.

Their mistake was hiring rejects from conventional stores and having no core vision for store leadership other than planograms.

Spouts is a fastfood version of wholefoods. That company is run by idiots and their man vendors.

Socialism was never the plan for the global elite. The elite are attaching themselves onto socialism in order to buy votes in a universal suffrage democracy because socialist policies are the easiest way to gain power but the goal of the elite has always been and will continue to be globalization based on neoliberal economics.

What the global elite want is a society of maximum wealth extraction to benefit the wealthy-elite. This is globalism + neoliberalism. In order to get the average Joe to buy into this, they buy-off the average Joe with social justice and socialism. The wealthy elite think socialism is garbage as well but they're willing to dabble into it in order to buy off votes.

You'll note though that the people who always end up funding socialist policies are the middle-class/poor people and not actually the wealthy elite. The wealthy elite would never let socialism disrupt their wealth+power.

What you may get is something that looks much closer to FASCISM not socialism, where corporations and the State merge into one. The global elite running the corporations become the government and everything is done to benefit the government (State) which happens to also be the corporations. Again, in order to get the masses to buy into this type of government, the elite will use socialist policies to buy off the average person.

The end result is that the average person is enslaved to working to not benefit himself, his family and his community but the majority of his work's benefit will go toward the wealthy elite and what the State determines is worth pursuing. People will get free XYZ given to them to satiate their desire for economic freedom. It's a trade-off. Essentially, humanity (besides the wealthy elite) will become a bunch of Zoo animals who's only purpose is to serve the Zoo keepers who are the wealthy elite. Enjoy the alcohol, porn, drugs and meaningless sex because that's all your life will ever amount to under this type of society. All emotion and natural human relationships are disrupted in order to promote a society that promotes the values that benefit the wealthy elite and not actually values that benefit the individual, their families and communities.

Met this guy briefly a few years ago. Basically a good guy with some deep conflicts between his beliefs and experience. But the monster he fed will devour him. Whole Foods was very good to its employees, promoting from within, offering exceptional benefits and all sorts of educational opportunities. They still wanted a union.

I used to shop there a lot pre-pandemic, high-quality meat and very good produce. Way too many vegans abs hippies though.

This guys in trouble, I hate that we are targeted in every aspect of life. It truly is disturbing, sometimes it gets depressing to see how far we've fallen as a society. Especially when you look where we were and where we thought we were.

I’m confused. Amazon bought Whole Foods, right?

We do need to re-educate about what true capitalism means. I think big corporations and big tech have confused our understanding on this too.
