Death penalty is expensive af because of all the legal appeals a person is allowed to make to ensure that an innocent person isn't wrongfully executed. You can take whatever stance you want on it in terms of morality or righteousness, but on a purely practical level it's often less expensive to give someone a life sentence.

I'll concede I do imply finding another way is preferable (always is, life's precious) by saying "last resort" in other comments, but that goes hand-in-hand with the seriousness of death. I have mixed opinions on capital punishment - on one hand, everyone has the right to life, unequivocally. On the other, some people commit such heinous acts of evil that they do not deserve to live after violating someone else's right to life. I really only support the death penalty in the circumstance where the perpetrator is guilty, and there isn't a shred of evidence proving otherwise. There needs to be 100% guarantee of the charges being made, otherwise the government executed an innocent man.
What scares me the most is a biased court - most notably in the cases where a 20-something thot accuses a guy of brutally raping her, and the guy gets sent to prison, only for the truth to come out years later or worse after he finishes a completely unjust sentence. If I recall correctly this just happened recently - a guy accused of rape in the 90s was sent to prison, and on release the "victim" admitted she lied to the court to get back at this guy she regretted sleeping with. He then sued her for every penny she has, and I haven't read about this case since so idk if he won.
Either way, if cases like this slip through the fingers of a fair and just legal system, then I can only imagine the first "mistake" in capital punishment, where the victim(s) lie in court to kill an innocent person. When that day comes, we're no better than totalitarian dictatorships.

I think what a lot of us are feeling is the abyss staring back. The Left, both the ideologues and the footsoldiers, makes it clear that they have contempt for us and view us as less than human, an obstruction to be abused and removed.
Furthermore, they have used the West's higher ideals against us. They use free speech to gain a foothold, then deny it to others. They use freedom of association to form brutal gangs to terrorize the streets, then deny us church services. They use racial egalitarianism to build representation, then push for supremacy.
For a lot of us, these aren't people to be reasoned with, they're a virus. And excecution is kinder than the slavery they have planned for us. Basically, in their inhuman arrogance, they have taken from us our ability to empathize with them. And it is a shame that a largely peaceful populace has to see domestic war and death for the first time, but maybe conflict avoidance is what led things to being so bad in the first place.

I have mixed opinions on capital punishment - on one hand, everyone has the right to life, unequivocally. On the other, some people commit such heinous acts of evil that they do not deserve to live after violating someone else's right to life. I really only support the death penalty in the circumstance where the perpetrator is guilty, and there isn't a shred of evidence proving otherwise. There needs to be 100% guarantee of the charges being made, otherwise the government executed an innocent man.
What scares me the most is a biased court - most notably in the cases where a 20-something thot accuses a guy of brutally raping her, and the guy gets sent to prison, only for the truth to come out years later or worse after he finishes a completely unjust sentence. If I recall correctly this just happened recently - a guy accused of rape in the 90s was sent to prison, and on release the "victim" admitted she lied to the court to get back at this guy she regretted sleeping with. He then sued her for every penny she has, and I haven't read about this case since so idk if he won.
Either way, if cases like this slip through the fingers of a fair and just legal system, then I can only imagine the first "mistake" in capital punishment, where the victim(s) lie in court to kill an innocent person. When that day comes, we're no better than totalitarian dictatorships.
