I've said before a good part of this is to crash the cash economy. Probably half my sales in a year are cash in person, until this year, everything has been online since the second week of March, every in person event save two small ones since then have been cancelled because of this thing. For a while we didn't even have the flea market, and even the bar I go to is on the same principle, they're one of the last to not accept credit cards.
They can't control or see cash transactions and it infuriates them they can't take their share out of them. I go to a meet and the only person who knows if I sold $10 or $10,000 is me. So long as one has books to reflect what they report, one can report anything they want so long as it's reasonable. And the things I buy for cash, no one else knows what I paid for them, so here again the only one who knows if I made 10% or 500% is me. They want to control all of that.
