If you want to take the effort to redpill your friend I'd suggest addressing the content of these "fact checks". From what I have seen on Reuters (which I browse almost daily), most of them amount to checking the website or reaching out to a rep from the group they are supposed to be fact checking against. Then show your friend that the "fact check" is dependent on clearly biased sources and juxtapose that to a similar scenario where your friend likely was skeptical of information posted on a right leaning groups own website. It's cumbersome and may not work but I've been able to redpill (or at least instill skepticism) in some of my friends that way
The last part is the best I can hope for -- maybe it will cause a small crack in their cocoon of blissful ignorance through which light can shine. We're talking about people who refuse to critically think about a single statistic and just say over and over and over and over:
