You need to ask him what his "failure condition" is, i.e. what situation could arise that would make him change his view.
If he doesn't have a failure condition then he has a self-proving theory, which means he just believes stuff regardless of proof.
If he does have a failure condition, even if it's ridiculous, at least he'll understand that opinions must be constantly reevaluated and checked against new information.
He said he does not believe everything and he does his due dilligence with watching different news channels, like cnn and fox. He insisted that he is not a stupid trump supporter who believes that all news started lying altogether
