I'm going to suggest that your governments still don't trust themselves enough to NOT start another war, and is one of the reasons why you require most of your defence to be provided for by America.

When Trump starts really fucking drug companies and they start getting pissed at losing money and their stocks start tanking and then they tell the free healthcare countries that they are gonna start paying 300-400% more a drug. That free healthcare is gonna be free of a lot of medicines.
