The U.S. Military now requires a minimum I.Q. of 85 to enlist. That means if you're I.Q. is below that, you cannot be trained to do any job of any value where you would do more good than cause harm.
About 15% of the population of the U.S. (and rising) have an I.Q. below 85.
So you can also factor that into the calculus.
