Those last books were finished by Brandon Sanderson, and were fairly bittersweet for me. On one hand, I glad the series got wrapped up after Jordan's death. On the other hand, it's painful listening to Sanderson's obnoxious fanclub trash Jordan for the previous couple admittedly sub-par books (by Jordan's standards), while praising Sanderson for turning the series around. In reality, the story was already back on track by the end of the last book that Jordan published, and Sanderson criminally misunderstood and miswrote major characters. Fortunately Jordan seems to have written most of the really important scenes.
I think maybe I heard something like that. The thing is, I have no idea how he managed to do it, and no idea how Jordan's editor (who was also Jordan's wife) let it pass. It was pretty glaring, and he was supposedly some huge fan of the series.
