That may not be practical. I give 0 fucks how long it takes to accurately count, but I do care that the process is fair. This includes your point - no time for rigging.

Part of the issue is cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh not reporting anything until after the rural vote comes in and they know what numbers they have to create.

A standardized deadline for all reporting ends that.

Right. You're addressing the problem of not only allowing time, but granting information allowing riggers to rig. Deprive them of that.

But a large city takes more time to count than a rural precinct with 100 votes. To have fair elections this needs to be allowed for. No results given until the count is DONE. We got away from that to satisfy instant gratification, at best. Now we see the problems associated with that.

Exactly. No news reports or other knowledge of a potential vote count until after everything is counted.
