Remember at the start, when everyone was hyperfocused on the counties in the swing states which threw out poll watchers and then stuffed ballots for days AFTER the election in order to push Biden to a win. Everyone was doing crowdsourcing, we had one of the biggest rallies even with over 100,000 people in DC, we were cohesive and strong.
Then Powell started derailing from that and started spouting off Q-esque conspiracies......"Trump won every single state by 7+ points, there's a vast communist Venezuelan plot from the ghost of Chavez with Dominion where they are switching votes in a control room overseas".....then she started repeating disinformation across interviews, the media, and Twitter....the worst was the seized server story (which originated by a random tweet on Twitter which Rep. Gohmer fell for and repeated on a Zoom call).
While she may have generated news, it caused the mentality of so many on our side to be complacent and "trust the plan" while garnering over a million new followers for herself. It caused a circus in the media, to make us look like conspiracy nuts instead of asking a valid question...."lets see the signatures on the envelopes for the mail-in ballots"
Barnes himself, who was the one who recommended Powell to Floyd and was working on the legal case with Powell and Rudy even said himself that Powell is responsible for derailing the legal effort. They were so close to getting signatures looked at until she went off spouting conspiracy theories. That's why Trump distanced himself from her.
I agree with Barnes that signatures /historical rejection rates are the best avenue...especially with Obama having used signatures himself.....but a laser focused path wouldn't work....we need a multi pronged movement...Senate, court, public opinion, pressure, Congress.....building, building building.....crescendo
The problem is the did damage to the movement.
