The question I have is would Greenlanders vote libtardy? I mean Denmark owns it after all.

Denmark owns it, but they have Home Rule.

the mining of the upper portions, even a tiny fraction of a percentage, could likely return trillions

It's too cold

Wasn't always too cold.

Why do you think it was named Greenland?

1000 years ago there were Viking settlements before the Little Ice Age (1300-1850) got going and politics made everyone either join the Inuit to stay and survive or go back to Europe.

That's not how I understand the story. Thd Vikings lied to get people to come by calling it Greenland

That's attributed to Eric the Red. yes.

A longer story of Greenland Civilization a long time back appears in the book "Collapse" by Jared Diamond and documents farming taking place there. Either his lie worked or Greenland deserved the name or some combination of the two because at least at some point in history even if it changed later.

On topic, Truman wanted to buy Greenland after WWII. A lot of US influence had hit there during that war and Greenlanders may have even gone for it, but in the end, Denmark got it back and probably won't sell it today.

Also,I'm not sure weather patterns change that drastically in that amount of time. But I agree that the USA should buy it.

I'd fkn move there if we buy it! I cook for a living, everyone eats, I'll be happy to settle in.

Single, no children, *well experienced and committed.

I'm single, but with 4 kids who can rake leaves (if there are leaves) mow grass (if there is grass) or at least shovel snow (until we get snow plows)

The amount of shrimp in the surrounding waters, there is more shrimp around Greenland than there ever was in all the Las Vegas casinos and buffets combined.

Tasty shrimp.

The "diversity" of Greenland could be a problem. Many laws that the locals get special things, while the Danish do not. The Danish pay for it.

Big alcoholism too?

The sale of alcohol has been banned in the Greenland capital Nuuk in a bid to reduce violence against children during the period of confinement over the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the government announced.

The Inuit and Danes don't really fit too well.

It is a big slice of land.

It isn't really being used.

President Trump would have made the place much happier and successful, but it isn't for sale, yet.

Once Denmark gets overrun by Third Worlders, they will sell Greenland so they can get more money for welfare for their Third Worlders.

China will then buy Greenland, at a big discount.
