Not a single one of the 77 Oklahoma counties voted for Biden.

(In fact, not a single county has voted for a Democrat President this millennium.)

Spent time at Ft. Sill while in the Army i loved Oklahoma. Hearing the artillery often was nice. Very similar to Virginia Beach and hearing the jets do their training missions.

Yeah more or less the Tribes will have to pay for the police, courts and to keep any tribal member in prison. It has nothing to do with anyone not part of the tribes. Also no one conquered Oklahoma. Cherokee and Choctaw tribal lands are treaty lands. "The five civilized tribes" had a much different relationship with the government then the tribes from those later Indian Wars that most of the movies and TV shows are about.

It is NOT true that this has nothing to do with people that are not part of the tribes. This will effect everyone. For example, think about the ramifications of the states tax base for the following law suit: https://oklahoman.com/article/5676234/grocery-fights-remitting-tax-to-both-state-tribe#:~:text=OKMULGEE%20%E2%80%94%20A%20grocery%20store%20chain,the%20Muscogee%20(Creek)%20Nation.

Its only really for criminal prosecution of native Americans. The tribes and the state pretty much had an agreement in place in case the court came down that way.

No they are held to federal law instead of state law. If you're on tribal land and you fuck around it is always a felony charge, so the ruling has now made "Indian Territory" only for Recognized Tribal members to be tried under federal law no state allowed

"The Muscogee (Creek) Nation, for its part, stated in a state court filing that the grocery store may be subject to both tribal, state and local sales taxes so long as tribal members are exempt from nontribal sales taxes when the purchase occurs on land held in trust for a federally recognized Indian tribe.

The land where the grocery store is located is owned by individual tribal members rather than the tribe, according to court documents."

You are getting all twisted up about a tribal member on their own land not wanting to pay state tax if they are subject to Tribal Tax because they are a Creek tribal member and also own the property the grocery store is on within Indian territory. You don't pay state taxes on a military base because it is federal property, no different then this land and it has no chance of taking money out of your pocket other than if you were to shop at that store or any other store on property owned by the tribe or tribal member. Be mad at all the lazy congress people who made these treaties then never revisited them they just decided to change the agreement regardless of what the Constitution said about treaties and now we have this shit show because Constitutionalist Judges ruled this way. Stop violating the highest law of the land and we wouldn't keep having these stupid issues.

The tribes own half the state now. As you probably know, the "tribes" are NOT filled with indians. They're filled with people that are 2% indian and 98% white, a la Elizabeth Warren. Yet somehow have a monopoly on gambling and sales tax. They're like a corporation, but now they own the city of Tulsa and probably the eastern half of the state.

The tribes have the strongest lobby in the state, and the politicians that are supposed to be negotiating for Okie citizens are instead hoping to be chief of the chickasaws some day. People are distracted by the covid/blm/election, but if they weren't they would know to be freaked out by all of this. It's going to be much worse than what people understand. The tribe can issue sales tax to only non-tribe members, and use the proceeds for only the good of the tribe, etc.

It's going to be an apartheid system, and people don't know how screwed we are.

i thought you had to have at least 25% native blood to be recognized by the feds. does the state have different criteria, if at all?

While some federal benefits are contingent on 25% indian blood, every tribe sets the own minimum blood quantum for membership. Most of the ones in Oklahoma simply require that you have at least one relative that was on the Dawes roll. https://www.powwows.com/much-percentage-native-american-enroll-tribe/

Not sure about fed recognition but one of my best friends growing up is a whopping 1/256th and he is on the rolls. That alone allowed him to score an entire point lower on the ACT and still qualify for a full scholarship.
