Its only really for criminal prosecution of native Americans. The tribes and the state pretty much had an agreement in place in case the court came down that way.

No they are held to federal law instead of state law. If you're on tribal land and you fuck around it is always a felony charge, so the ruling has now made "Indian Territory" only for Recognized Tribal members to be tried under federal law no state allowed

For minor crimes, tribal members are tried by the tribal courts. So if you get a DUI, for example the court you go to will depend on if you have a CDIB.

There are still both felonies and misdemeanors on tribal land. But things like the age of consent will be different if you are a card holder.

"The Muscogee (Creek) Nation, for its part, stated in a state court filing that the grocery store may be subject to both tribal, state and local sales taxes so long as tribal members are exempt from nontribal sales taxes when the purchase occurs on land held in trust for a federally recognized Indian tribe.

The land where the grocery store is located is owned by individual tribal members rather than the tribe, according to court documents."

You are getting all twisted up about a tribal member on their own land not wanting to pay state tax if they are subject to Tribal Tax because they are a Creek tribal member and also own the property the grocery store is on within Indian territory. You don't pay state taxes on a military base because it is federal property, no different then this land and it has no chance of taking money out of your pocket other than if you were to shop at that store or any other store on property owned by the tribe or tribal member. Be mad at all the lazy congress people who made these treaties then never revisited them they just decided to change the agreement regardless of what the Constitution said about treaties and now we have this shit show because Constitutionalist Judges ruled this way. Stop violating the highest law of the land and we wouldn't keep having these stupid issues.

What I'm getting twisted up about is the state of Oklahoma will no longer be able to collect taxes on half the state.

How do you think we are going to pay for the roads, schools, pensions, and police if we can't collect taxes?

There's so much more to this, too. You just have to look down the road and consider the implications of all this.

Good luck Tulsa!

I'm Cherokee and Choctaw living in Cherokee Indian Territory. I pay sales tax on everything I buy. If this plays out the worst it will be is I go to a store owned by a tribal member I will pay tax to a tribe. If I go to a store owned by non-tribal member I pay tax to the state. I work as a welder for a business owned by a non-tribal member on land that isn't owned by the tribe but resides in the territory, I will pay State and Federal Income Tax. There is almost 4 million people living in Oklahoma and only 10% or less are Indian. Again calm the fuck down and read the history and opinion written an understand why Gorsuch ruled the way he did. The treaties were violated and the legal remedy as it stands was to go this route. Treaties can be altered by Congress and Congress played a stupid game 120+ years ago and thought they could ignore the Constitution and we are reaping the bullshit for their fuckery. You don't like the Casinos, Tribal vehicle tags, or Hunting licenses? You don't like a group of people who are not paying the same taxes as non-tribal members? Take it up with Congress, they made the treaties they sued for peace. You can bullshit the rest of these people here and keep getting on the train bashing all Tribes of Indians because you know the place that happens to be about equal in size to the US called Europe? Yeah, they have how many ethnic and cultural groups across a similar land mass? How many bloody wars did they fight? Stop just reading snippets of history and realize everything is likely much more nuanced when both sides of history are told.
