Yeah, not happening. I'm in the industry. The market for truck drivers is as high as i have ever seen it. If you sit, other drivers are going to get paid even more. There are so many immigrants in the trucking industry that don't give one fuck about this country, unfortunately this will never work. A lot of drivers don't drive on Sundays anyway but I have about 10 loads going out tomorrow and they have drivers under them.

DCdeplorable 38 points ago +38 / -0

So as far as you know there's no massive grassroots effort coming? I'm just curious, if even 20% of truckers went on strike i suspect it would be hard to cover the slack. There would be at least some deliveries which, not being able to pay the inflated rates, would opt to hold their products

40
EvanWithDaSpice 40 points ago +40 / -0

Yes, the market volume is already exceeding trucking capacity and rates are through the roof. Like I said, highest I have ever seen them. If 20% of the capacity dried up it would create huge problems. It won't though. The incentive is not there. I understand principle, but these drivers are making 10k/week if they catch the right loads. It won't be this way forever.

No, there is no massive effort underway.

DCdeplorable 24 points ago +25 / -1

Disappointing. If i was making half of 10k/week, in a couple years id have some f.u. rainy day money and would gladly make a point. I'm sure truckers, who actually see every corner of america, know better than anyone how this election was stolen, and how their future is in a ton of doubt under leftist rule. They have the power to make a statement, they should do it.

But i wont judge them, since i cant do much either except donate my time and money to protests and politicians who try to expose this. I just hope we dont end up in the dark winter of that 4th box.

Their business is up and down. There is a market for drivers as shipping volumes go up and down and capacity is added or removed from the market. When capacity outweighs demand, it can be a very hard life and they struggle for a year or so waiting on it to go the other way. It can be hard to cover expenses and companies that don't manage their money well go out of business. Similar to what a farmer would experience if there were no subsidies.

How is it even possible to make THAT much just truck driving???

God Bless our truckers - they keep our country open and moving - and are totally unappreciated by the sh*t media and average people. Safe driving Pedes!

You deserve it!! You guys (and some gals) are critical to our country and most truckers are soooo patriotic! On a side note, this is also why I love this community! 🇺🇸🚛❤️

bro driving a truck is hard, and I respect the hell out of it. I hope you are killing it this year man, I know it's been good since early summer. I think this market will continue at least through the first couple quarters next year.

What can’t they be both, and why’s wrong with really old gross white guys if they are working hard and supporting themselves while not bothering anyone else? 🤷🏼‍♂️ I hope to live long enough to be a really old gross white guy one day, and I’m black. 😁

Nah, just kidding I’m not black, but I am white and gross, so I’m almost there.😛

A good general freight driver with his own truck and trailer will gross $20,000 to $30,000 per month. After expenses though, the net is really in the $5,000 to $6,000 range. The real benefit is that small-fleet owner/operators can expense many daily necessities through the business, so the net income stretches a lot further than an employee who makes the same money doing something else.

Same reason Trump celebrated Truckers during the height of this WuFlu crap. They are a major artery to our economy & social stability. Remember people going full retard & buying shopping carts full of TP a few months ago? People even fought in the aisles over it. I couldn’t find rubbing alcohol in any store around me until a few months ago. Truckers got their asses on the road & delivered to grocery stores to help ease the distance between supply/demand, & did so in scramble time. That’s very much worth some good $ to manufacturers. sellers, buyers, & also to our Truckers.

WhyCrySky 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just trucking ?? How about you go pull 80,000 pounds of Hazardous material over Eisenhower in the dead of winter while being away from your family for 27 days a month then get back to us.

7
ShartimusPrime 7 points ago +7 / -0

10k a week?! That's no where near what truckers make unless you are an owner operator.Even then, cost of maintenance on your truck nullifies most of your profit.

What're YOU hauling? Cocaine?

7
EvanWithDaSpice 7 points ago +7 / -0

yeah buddy, I don't know what I'm talking about, I just pay trucking companies all day every day. Why don't you post up a reefer load running at -10 degrees from CA-MA and see what kind of rates you are going to pay. I bet you you will not book a truck for less than 9K. I didn't say they could NET 10k a week but that is the rates that are being paid.

2
ShartimusPrime 2 points ago +2 / -0

I wasnt trying to be facecious, I was simply saying that I didn't know truckers got paid THAT much. Considering I was in trucking school to get my CDL and heard about how much a week someone at Werner/Knight etc gets paid, the number seemed astronomical to me.

Was just poking fun at it.

2
EvanWithDaSpice 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's not always this way.. The market is just tight and demand is high. A lot of the company guys get paid by the mile, so different setup than owner operators.

2
ShartimusPrime 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well that's kinda the point I was making. Owner Ops probably make more at the end of the day but when you throw in cost of maintenance, is it really that much?

1
Truly_anonymous1 1 point ago +1 / -0

Factor in the expenses. Of course the total pay for loads is high. The Take home is a fraction of that of course.

3
EvanWithDaSpice 3 points ago +4 / -1

I know what the expenses are.. I do this for a living clown. The same load i mentioned above would have been half that a year ago. They are making a killing.

3
Bertuzzi 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nothing better than people not in the industry trying to tell brokers how things work.

1
Truly_anonymous1 1 point ago +1 / -0

Watch your mouth clown

1
HatsuneMiku 1 point ago +1 / -0

I know for a fact the company I work at is paying out $1500 a day 6 days a week to our drivers for 4 ~75 mile turns a day. And will all through December.

1
ShartimusPrime 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is this owner op pay or driving for a company pay?

3
Trumpede 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is the same problem we have across the board, all these "1776 will happen again" people don't actually plan on giving up their job or their family for our country. They talk big but then roll over, wear a mask willingly, and continue shuffling along like sheep.

3
EvanWithDaSpice 3 points ago +3 / -0

well tomorrow, why don't you not go in to work and make sure your boss knows it's because you are protesting an election. get back to me since you aren't a sheep.

2
Trumpede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm game, will you do the same? Will the other 1% do the same? Or will I be left standing alone, because this country doesn't know how to unite under our flag?

1
EvanWithDaSpice 1 point ago +2 / -1

No, I won't because I'm not a moron. And neither will they. If the eventual time comes where we need to actually defend the flag then that's another story, but I'm not quitting my job in protest of the election. I'll leave that up to people without brain cells

1
Trumpede 1 point ago +1 / -0

And you call yourself a patriot. Pathetic.

Wonder how it will be if Biden steals the election? I doubt the economy will be near as strong as it is. I look for bleak times if the socialist democrats steal the election and get control.

I finance Class 8 trucks and trailers and none of my customers are participating. Most didn't know about this and all of them said they are so busy they can't take any time off right now. Been that way all year! Americans have no idea how great our truckers really are.

6
EvanWithDaSpice 6 points ago +6 / -0

yeah i'm a broker and I have heard like 2 drivers mention it. I talk to hundreds of drivers on a weekly basis. Maybe thousands some weeks.

2
skenderbej 2 points ago +2 / -0

The most successful trucking start ups I've dealt with have been brokers starting fleets...just sayin' =). The industry has its ups and downs but damn near everything an American will buy has been on a truck at some point. I feel bad being a desk jockey since the drivers do all the heavy lifting, IMO; I have nothing but respect for the industry.

2
EvanWithDaSpice 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've considered saving money and starting a trucking company. I enjoy what I do, but I would like to own my own business at some point. I'd like to come up with a business model though that offers drivers some kind of equity stake but idk.

3
lifeisahologram 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yeah also 1 day isn’t gonna do anything logistically. It would need to be at least a few weeks before anyone felt the true brunt of it. And then like you said, that would just increase demand, so they’d probably try to fast track some new hires with lucrative bonuses who will happily cross the picket line.

5
EvanWithDaSpice 5 points ago +5 / -0

If they could pull it off it would be devastating but they can't.

let me give you an example: When the market is loose and rates are down, if they all got on the same page and wouldn't drive for less than $2/mile they would all get $2/ mile. But they can't and they don't. They will race each other to the bottom. The market doesn't care how any of the drivers feel or any point they want to prove.

2
Submariner 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah truth. I'm sure enough truckers could sit out to massively fuck things up for a few companies, but it would most likely be the smaller ones without the large network logistics companies to support them. I mean a single semi parking on the highway is enough to ruin a lot of people's day but that won't necessarily achieve the intended purpose. There's too many people out there (many immigrants for sure) who are just like fuck it I need the money.

2
TheQuickening 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's not really about that, it's about getting through censorship.

Think if the truckers can pull this off and every little town news channel goes to reports on the event to the locals.

Even if it's only 20% of truckers and grows. It'll break into local news.

3
Thewickersnipper 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sounds like even our own here aren’t willing to to give up a day to show support. 😒

2
EvanWithDaSpice 2 points ago +2 / -0

trust me. It ain't happening. Imagine if a liberal said they weren't going to do something and all it did was make your pay go up and hurt their business and let you gain market share? You would laugh in their face. Whoever those driver's customers are, if they have any and don't go through brokers exclusively, will reach out to other companies who have no doubt been calling on them non stop for an opportunity to run their freight.

4
TheQuickening 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm sure, but it only takes a small group. I mean look we are talking about it, it's driving meaning.

If it fails or not, the message goes out.

23
iitwi 23 points ago +23 / -0

I highly highly doubt it. Majority of them are not owner operators, they're just drivers. Not to mention half of them aren't even citizens and they got their CDL from some inner city where they don't even take a driving test. They don't give a shit lol. Truckers like this guy are very few and far between.

Everyone who is a producer and doer should get in on this. If you want to make your voice heard, and let the country know this election is not going to be buried in legalese, there has to be a very powerful movement. Everything about this election is statistically unusual. Our disenfranchisement matters. The evidence of fraud needs to be explained by democrats.

It would need to be around 3-4 days of a nationwide strike before democrats realize they are fucked. They ignore everything until it's an emergency.

4
Crlsniper 4 points ago +5 / -1

Latest update I’ve seen is the group planning this has delayed the strike to some unknown time. Though that was well over a week ago, nobody seems to have covered the story since

4
splink 4 points ago +4 / -0

I see them announce things like this from time to time but I've never seen it happen in any noticeable numbers. Really doesn't seem too effective of a strategy, as one day just affects things about as much as a regular holiday might.

3
Garnet56 3 points ago +4 / -1

New Mexico retard governor has shutdown access to all grocery stores, massive lines for starving Americans at food banks, and how much will farmers suffer when they can't get their produce to the market, this scheme sounds like it will do more harm then good.
